Band Bio: Boasting some serious musical talent and family lineage of the legendary Tableland Drifters, The Barkly Boys take the tradition of fusing country blues and rock to tell tales and stories of the Barkly Tablelands through vivid, compelling lyrics and music that reflects and landscapes and towns that inspired it.

Currently recording their debut album with Winanjjikari Music Centre, Barkly Boys have already enjoyed success within Barkly music scene and beyond. Their home territory covers some of the most remote locations in the country, and their performances reflect this, from lonely roadhouse on distant highways to rodeo festivals as far as Mt Isa. The Barkly Boys have built a strong following from the characters and communities whom their songs resonate the strongest with. In 2013 they released their debut film clip for their self produced track ‘Breath Away’.

After an incredible performance at the 2013 Desert Harmony Festival in Tennant Creek, Barkly Boys have been given the support of the Winanjjikari Music Centre and the Barkly Regional Arts to record and produce an album in 2014.

An amazing live act featuring the insightful passionate vocals of frontman Darren King, as well as blistering live solos and soulful rhythm of the guitarist Marcus Finlay. Held together by left hand powerhouse drummer Reggie O’Riley the Barkly Boys are an exciting band on the rise.
