Members:

Gadrian Hoosan (lead vocal), Ricky Kidd (lead guitar), Leon Timothy (key board), Conrad Rory (bass), Warrick John (rhythm and back up vocal), Bruce King (drummer). Band members are from the Garrawa, Yanula and Gadangi language groups from around the Borroloola township.

BACKGROUND:

Formed in 1995 playing at the first Lidjakarda Festival at Wandangnula Outstation near Borroloola. More recently have undertaken study of several units of the Charles Darwin Contemporary Music Course and in 2004 and 2005 performed at Tenant Creek Battle of the Bands Youth Week, 2004 Katherine at Music Without Humbug supporting Neil Murray, 2004 Borroloola Rodeo Battle of the Bands, 2005 Katherine Flying Fox Festival supporting Naberlak Band, Youth Week in Borroloola, supported Nomadics Band at gig at Youth Centre, Borroloola Rodeo Battle of the Bands and numerous gigs at Borroloola Hotel and Sandridge Oustation. 2006 performed at Merripen arts festival, Garma Festival and undertook 3 week tour with Tableland Drifters performing numerous small communities including Katherine Festival and Darwin festival Songs are a mixture of reggae, rock and metal sounds. Songs are about land, culture, people and contemporary life in communities The Band have spent the last 18 months Recording with Dr Fouride at Barkly Regional Arts and the Winanjjikari Music Centre in Tennant Creek. The Band are Launching their New debut Album Think About Our Culture on the 8th of June at the Burunga Festival. The Sandridge Band have in the last six months have boomed to the top of the State with win’s at the Tennant Creek Battle of the Bands, Winners of the state Wide Burunga Road safety Song Competition that will make there Music the new Territory Gov Road safety ambassitors. The Band are looking at Playing at the Indigenous Music Awards and The Tennant Creek Festivals Australia MAPS program. There are other possibilities to perform at the Big Sound Conferece Showcazse in Brisbane, And Performances at the Adelaide Fringe Festival next year.
